How do I hide private details in a screenshot?
Choose, drop, or paste a screenshot. Local OCR, QR, and optional face detection suggest regions to cover; review them, add manual masks, and export a newly encoded image at the original dimensions.

- Does Screenshot Scrubber upload my image?
- No. The screenshot stays in this browser tab. Tiny Web Lab serves recognition code and models, but image bytes, OCR text, QR contents, filenames, mask positions, and exported files are not sent to an API.
- What private details can it find?
- It looks for likely email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, API keys and tokens, and QR codes. Optional face detection is a beta assist. These are suggestions, not a guarantee that every private detail was found.
- Can I hide something the scanner misses?
- Yes. Draw a manual mask directly on the image, then choose an opaque solid cover, pixelation, or blur. Solid cover is the safest visual option.
- Does the export contain the orange detection boxes?
- No. The export is a newly encoded PNG, JPEG, or WebP at the original pixel dimensions and contains only the enabled mask effects, never guides, labels, or handles.
- Does no automatic match mean the screenshot is safe?
- No. Low-contrast text, stylized fonts, partial faces, damaged QR codes, or private context can be missed. Review the full image and add manual masks before sharing.
